Getting started
Pingtumi Alerts Overview
Pingtumi Alerts lets you send notifications straight to the phones and computers of your customers, guests or followers. They subscribe to your channel with one tap from your Ping Link or QR Code, with no app to download, no account to create and no phone number or email to share. This guide will show you step by step how to create a channel, gain subscribers and send alerts people are delighted to receive.
01 The two ideas: Channels and Alerts
Everything in Pingtumi Alerts is built from two things.
- A channel is a branded, topic-specific feed people subscribe to, such as restock alerts, event updates, food-truck locations or schedule changes. Each channel has its own public page, the Ping Page, and a link to it, the Ping Link.
- An alert is a message you send from a channel. It arrives as a push notification on each subscriber’s device, and tapping it opens your Ping Page with the full alert and any Action Buttons.
You can run several channels from one account, for example one for restocks and one for events, and each has its own subscribers.
02 Create a channel
Sign up or log in, then tap New Channel on your dashboard. It takes two steps.
- Channel Details — enter a Channel Name and a short Description of the alerts you will send. You can also add your Store or Website Link (optional).
- Cover Image — pick a free template cover, upload your own or create one with AI. It’s shown at the top of your Ping Page. Then tap Create Channel.
A clear name like “The Denim Shop Restock Alerts” tells people exactly what they are signing up for, and that makes them more likely to subscribe and stay.
04 How people subscribe
Subscribers open your Ping Link or scan your QR Code and follow the instructions on your Ping Page. There is no app to download and nothing to sign up for.
Android and computersTap Subscribe to Alerts, then allow notifications in the browser. That’s it.
iPhone and iPadTap Share, then Add to Home Screen. Open the Ping Page from the Home Screen and tap Subscribe to Alerts.
Their choiceSubscribers can set Quiet Hours or tap Unsubscribe at any time.
Subscribers who get stuck can follow Get Alerts on Your Phone, our step-by-step guide for iPhone, Android and computers, including Home Screen and lock screen setup.
Subscribing is anonymous. You see how many subscribers a channel has, but never a phone number, email or name.
05 Create an alert
Tap the + Alert button at the bottom of the channel to open the composer. A live preview shows the notification and your Ping Page as you type.
- Write a short Title and Message. Add an emoji with the emoji picker if you like.
- Tap Add Image to include a photo.
- Tap Add Action Button to give people a next step (see section 07).
- Not ready yet? Tap Save Draft and come back to it later.
Tap Improve Title & Message to have AI improve, rewrite or shorten your alert in a Friendly, Urgent or Professional tone. Opening it is free; each suggestion costs 1 Coin, and nothing changes until you choose to use it.
06 Send now or schedule
Under Delivery, choose when your alert goes out.
- Send Now — delivers your alert to every subscriber immediately.
- Schedule for Later — pick a future date and time and it sends automatically. Scheduled alerts stay listed on the channel, and you can cancel one any time before it sends.
- A random number of subscribers — when scheduling, you can send to a random group instead of everyone, which is handy for limited giveaways. Only the people who receive it see it on your Ping Page.
Every alert is subject to an automatic safety check before it is sent or scheduled. Action Buttons can’t be changed after an alert is sent but the alert message can be edited and subscribers will automatically see the edited version.
07 Action Buttons
Action Buttons turn an alert into something people can act on. They appear under the alert on your Ping Page. Tap Add Action Button and pick from Choose an Action Button; each type can be added once per alert.
- LinkOpen a website, with a label like Learn More, Buy Now or Register.
- LocationGet directions to a place in Apple or Google Maps.
- Order / PaySend people to your Stripe, Square, Toast, Shopify, PayPal, Venmo or Cash App checkout.
- Promo CodeReveal a one-time code, made for each device, to show at the counter.
- Flash DealShare an offer that is only active between a start and end time.
- Calendar EventAdd an event to their calendar.
- Event RSVPCollect guest responses and a headcount.
- Call or TextStart a call or message to your number.
- Email MeStart an email to your address.
- PollAsk a quick question and see the results.
- Connect to Wi-FiJoin your Wi-Fi network without typing the password.
08 Make your Ping Page yours
Open Edit Channel from the channel’s menu. It has four tabs, with a live Ping Page preview.
- Details — Channel Name, Description and your Store or Website Link.
- Branding — your Logo and Cover Image. Upload your own or create one with AI.
- Appearance — a color theme and a wallpaper. Wallpapers come in Colors, Calm, Vibrant and Occasions, from Valentine’s Day and Diwali to Christmas and birthdays.
- Ping Page Buttons — buttons that are always on your Ping Page, whatever your latest alert says: Link, Location, Connect to Wi-Fi, Email Me and Call or Text.
09 Event RSVPs and guests
Add an Event RSVP button to an alert and guests can answer I’ll Be There, Not Sure or Can’t Make It, say how many people they are bringing, and turn on event reminders.
- Open the alert’s Guest List to see every response and the headcount. Filter by status or search by name.
- Tap Message Guests to send an update only to guests, for example everyone attending.
Only guests who turned on reminders or updates on their device can be reached by Message Guests.
10 Next In Line and Order Pickup
Open Queue & Pickup from a channel’s menu to replace a physical line with a virtual one. A channel runs one of these at a time.
Next In LineCustomers scan your QR Sign to get a number. Call the next person with one tap and their phone tells them it’s their turn.- Order PickupCustomers get an order number. Alert each one when their order is ready, in any order the kitchen finishes.
PrivateGetting a number doesn’t subscribe anyone to your channel, and subscribers never see line activity.
Your first 50 customers are free. After that, a one-time Coin purchase unlocks both Next In Line and Order Pickup for that channel.
11 Track and reuse alerts
Every sent alert stays on your channel with its results.
- See how many devices the push service accepted, how many confirmed they received it, and how many views it got.
- See Poll results, Event RSVP responses and Promo Codes redeemed.
- Resend an alert to everyone again, or Save as Draft to reuse it.
- Choose Keep on Ping Page or Remove from Ping Page to control what visitors see.
Send alerts people will be glad to get: timely, useful and on topic for your channel. Fewer, better alerts keep subscribers from unsubscribing.
12 Coins
Coins are Pingtumi’s in-app credit for a few optional extras. Creating channels and sending alerts are free.
- Uploading your own cover image, or creating a cover or logo with AI.
- Writing with AI in the composer.
- Unlocking premium themes for a channel, or premium wallpapers for your account.
- Downloading a high-resolution poster of your QR Code.
- Unlocking Next In Line and Order Pickup after your first 50 customers.
Tap Buy Coins at the top of your dashboard and choose a tier, from 6 for $2.49 up to 100 for $24.99.
Creating channels, sharing your Ping Link, sending and scheduling alerts, Action Buttons and the free themes and wallpapers cost nothing.

Yes, for subscribers, and for everything most senders do. Creating channels and sending alerts are free.
Coins, Pingtumi’s in-app credit, are only needed for optional extras such as custom or AI images, premium themes and wallpapers, and posters.
My subscribers say they aren’t getting alerts
It’s almost always a phone setting. Send them Get Alerts on Your Phone, which walks through iPhone, Android and computers step by step. Every Ping Page also links to it from Not Getting Alerts? under You’re subscribed.
